In this episode:
Andrew installs an OCZ Vertex2 SSD in his MacBook Pro while using a Optibay Drive kit from http://www.mcetech.com/optibay/ to replace the SuperDrice with the old 500GB stock hard drive. Let’s just say it’s fast. Meanwhile, Danny finds out that the new iMac does not allow Hard Drive upgrades http://gigaom.com/apple/imac-drives-not-meant-to-be-replaced-and-i-hate-it/ so that’s a real buzz kill. A little thing called Google I/O happened where they finally announced the long awaited ChromeBooks. Too bad the Education pricing is not what we had hoped – ChromeBooks for Education. Also out of Google I/O – coming this summer: Fully offline Gmail, Calendar and Docs. We visit the Corcoran Unified School District’s 1:1 iPad program and spend much of the drive back questioning which is the way forward for our own 1:1, iPads or ubermix netbooks?
