Episode 15 “Macbook Pro 1, Blue Mic 0”

Episode 15 Macbook Pro 1, Blue Mic 0

In this episode:

Special guest Mike Magboo, Teacher on Special Assignment – Merced County Office of Education ROP Technology Chair (@allurbaser) shares his thoughts with us on IT’s role in Education, talks about our upcoming T3 video project as part of the K12HSN Grant and shows off his Monster Droid X. More LTSP performance geek out moments, Flash 10.2 for Ubuntu 64-bit is out but didn’t fix the problems. Danny wasn’t happy with just being a GCT so he went out and became a Google Apps Certified Trainer. I didn’t want fan boy status, so I’m only a Google Apps Qualified Individual. Check out http://edutraining.googleapps.com/ for more info on getting certified. And check out these tech resources for CA educators – Calaxy and MyBOE.org. And of course we talk about Jim Klein’s ubermix and Jon Corippo & Minarets High School.

Danny pulls a tweet out of thin air (An awesome Google Site customization):

RT @jessternrays @mattlovegrove‘s Google Apps powered site http://bit.ly/9gnmNK.

Looks like the work of the master craftsman @EdintheClouds. Brilliant!

I ask, “Can we ditch our PBX phone system and replace it with Google Talk in Gmail?”

Episode 14 “The Forgotten”

Episode 14 The Forgotten

In this episode:

Danny and Andrew remember how to do a Podcast.  We’ve been back from Rock Star Tech Camp for a month and four weeks of school down already. Danny has moved his freshman Earth Science classes to a 1:1 instruction model and Andrew has been busy keeping the lab up and running.  More fun with Ubermix and LTSP in the lab.  Ofris, a deep freeze for linux.

Andrew had a great lunch at the Apple Tech Champs training hosted by the San Joaquin County Office of Education and then had a day of fun and excitement at MOUSE Squad orientation the following day.

Danny is drawn back to the mothership (the GooglePlex) for a GCT Reunion.

We make an appearance on the local radio (well, mostly Danny) 1480 KYOS.

Google announces the Google Apps for Education Certification program with Tests! We both have two down, four to go.

And the mics were set too high so we sounds a bit fuzzy, sorry.
